Türksat 5B satellite was put into service with a ceremony attended by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. Speaking at the ceremony, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu said, “We all experience the justified pride of putting Türksat 5B, the newest and most powerful of our country's 'high efficiency satellite' class, into service. We successfully launched our Türksat 5B communication satellite on 19 December 2021. Our satellite reached its orbit at 5 degrees on May 17, after its 42-month journey. We have completed the performance and trajectory tests,” he said.
Karaismailoğlu, who stated that the satellite that started service has a wide coverage area that will cover more than one third of the world, said that the 5D satellite will enable Turkey to be active in much wider geographies in satellite internet service with its high data transmission capacity, and will serve effectively in commercial sectors such as maritime and aviation. told.
Karaismailoğlu said, “The capacity of Türksat 5B, which is the strongest of our satellite fleet, will be 20 times more than fixed satellites.” On the centennial anniversary of our Republic, we will take our place among the top 6 countries with our domestic and national communication satellite Türksat 10A.”
WE INVESTED 20 BILLION DOLLARS IN 172 YEARS IN TRANSPORTATION AND COMMUNICATIONS

In this direction, in the communication sector; We continue our work by targeting the development and dissemination of information and communication infrastructure, the expansion of fiber and broadband infrastructure and its use, the development of effective competition in the sector and consumer welfare, the support of domestic and national production, the completion of domestic and national 5G infrastructure, and the development of cyber security.”
