İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Swimming Instructor for Special Children, Kezban Taşçı, stated that they have started swimming training for disabled children and young people since March and said, “We are training our 34 children. Communication between special children and their coaches is very important. That's why we use different and special methods. For example, we ensure that the same coach is constantly interested in a student and that he gains his trust.” Kezban Taşçı stated that swimming is of great importance in terms of both physical and emotional development of children and said that movements in the water contribute to the muscle development of disabled individuals.
