Prioritizing the protection of nature in its production activities and investments, Mercedes-Benz Türk aims to achieve zero CO2039 emissions during production until 2 in line with its "Green Goals" program.

Thanks to the solar power plant, Hoşdere Bus Factory released 2021 tons of less CO82 to the atmosphere in 2 and provided the same benefit to the environment as planting approximately 1.550 trees.

Aksaray Truck Factory, which recycles 98 percent of the waste generated during production, spent 200 thousand m3 less water as a result of the studies carried out to reduce water consumption and ensure sustainability.

Mercedes-Benz Türk, which organizes various events due to Environment Week, conveyed the importance of sustainability to its employees at these events.

Mercedes-Benz Türk, which aims to achieve zero CO2039 emissions during production until 2 within the scope of the "Green Goals" program and continues its studies and investments in this direction, leads the automotive sector in this field as well.

Mercedes-Benz Türk successfully completed the transition audit to ISO 2018:14001 in 2015 and received the Environmental Management System Certificate. Before the necessary investments are made, the Energy Management Team, consisting of experts who have the certificates required by the relevant legal regulation, determined the points that need improvement and efficiency potentials with the regular reports they prepared.

The Hoşdere Bus Factory and Aksaray Truck Factory of Mercedes-Benz Türk were also entitled to receive the Zero Waste certificate from the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization in 2021, after the studies and investments they carried out in the field of environment.

Hoşdere Bus Factory released 2021 tons less CO82 to the atmosphere in 2 thanks to the solar power plant

Established on an area of ​​366.000 m2, Hoşdere Bus Factory also has a pyramid thuja forest spread over an area of ​​8.800 m2. Thanks to the pilot solar power plant, with 2021 tons less CO82 emissions to the atmosphere in 2, the factory provided the same benefit to the environment as planting approximately 1.550 trees in this period.

The Hoşdere Bus Factory, which saves 25 percent of energy thanks to its automation system, also recycled 7 percent of the 300 tons of waste generated during production. As a result of cleaning with ozone in the cafeteria, water consumption decreased by approximately 96 percent.

Aksaray Truck Factory, the production facility with the largest green area in its region

Aksaray Truck Factory is the production facility with the largest green area in the region with its 700 square meters of grass area, 2 trees and planting plants on an established area of ​​214 thousand square meters. In 2, 4.250 MWh of electrical energy and 2021 MWh of natural gas savings were achieved in the factory, and 601 tons of less CO2.335 was emitted to the nature. In the factory, where 693 percent of the 2 tons of waste generated during production is recycled, 5 thousand m323 less water was spent as a result of the works carried out to reduce water consumption and ensure sustainability. In addition, with the commissioning of the waste collection unit in Aksaray Mercedes-Benz Türk lodgings, wastes are separated into 98 categories as plastic, paper, glass, metal, waste batteries and waste electronic goods. Wastes collected according to their categories are sent to the municipality's recycling facilities.

Special events for Environment Week at Mercedes-Benz Türk factories

Mercedes-Benz Türk conveys the importance of the environment and sustainability with the activities it organizes for its employees due to Environment Week. In this context, at a stand set up at the Aksaray Truck Factory, the recycling stages of waste from the factory were shown and an exhibition consisting of photographs showing in which areas the wastes can be processed and used was opened.

In the stand at Hoşdere Bus Factory, information was given about recycling and its stages, and organic fertilizer and seeds produced from the wastes of the factory were given as gifts to the participants of the competition on the environment. In addition, students studying at secondary schools around the factory and visiting the stand in question were also informed about the environment and energy. The students, who planted saplings in suitable areas, helped to expand the green area around the factory.
