İzmir Leaves Its Mark on TÜBİTAK Science Olympics

'Tübitak Science Olympiads First Stage Exam Results', which was organized to increase the interest of middle school and high school students in basic sciences and computer fields, to prepare students for the National Science Olympiads and to enable them to represent our country in the International/Regional Science Olympiads, has been announced. Students studying in schools affiliated to the İzmir Provincial Directorate of National Education left their mark on the First Stage Exam Results of the TÜBİTAK Science Olympiads this year.

30 students in 8 branches applied to the 19062th Science Olympics First Stage Exam. According to the evaluations, students from Izmir achieved great success in the exam, in which 463 students were entitled to participate in the summer school and the second stage exam. In the 30th TUBITAK Science Olympics, 67 students from Izmir moved on to the second stage. This success of the students studying in schools affiliated to the İzmir Provincial Directorate of National Education brought İzmir to the second place among the provinces. According to the results, Istanbul was the first, Izmir was the second, Ankara was the third, and Kocaeli was the fourth.

İzmir Provincial Directorate of National Education continues to increase its success in Science Olympics every year. İzmir Provincial Directorate of National Education meticulously carries out preparations for the 'Science Olympics', which is organized to increase students' interest in basic sciences, to contribute to the development of students' scientific thinking systems, and to reveal future scientist candidates.

According to the TÜBİTAK Science Olympics announced this year, İzmir Science High School showed great success with its 30 students. İzmir Science High School became the second in Turkey among the schools that sent the most students to the second stage. According to the results announced, 9 students in the field of Chemistry, 5 students in the field of Mathematics, 4 students in the field of Biology, 6 students in the field of Computer, 4 students in the field of Physics, and 2 students in the field of Astronomy. In this context, Kocaeli ranked first, Şanlıurfa third and Ankara fourth.

Another school that achieved success in the TÜBİTAK Science Olympics was the Bornova Martyr Fatih Satır Science and Art Center. 6 students from Bornova Martyr Fatih Satır Science and Art Center moved on to the second stage. Bornova Martyr Fatih Satır Science and Art Center shared the second place in Turkey among the Science and Art Centers that sent students to the second stage with Ankara Yasemin Karakaya Science and Art Center. Istanbul came first in the distribution of Bilsem.
