İzmir Metropolitan Municipality's Summer Sports Schools Open on 20 June

İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Youth and Sports Club is ready for the new season with more than 16 trainers in 27 different branches in 100 different facilities within the scope of the Summer and Winter Sports Schools project. The 46 Summer Term will start on June 2022 at the sports schools where 20 thousand children and adults were trained last year. This year, it is aimed to provide training to 25 thousand people only in the summer term.

Children of Izmir will spend a summer full of sports and fun. Mayor of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Tunç SoyerSports Schools, operating within the scope of the principle of equal opportunity in accessing sports, will start the summer term on 20 June. Schools are in 16 different facilities in basketball, gymnastics, volleyball, football, taekwon-do, judo, tennis, athletics, chess, step-aerobics, pilates, zumba, healthy life, canoe, intelligence games, swimming, water polo, table tennis, folk dances. will serve in dance, yoga, capoeira, wrestling, optimist, futsal, badminton and conditioning branches.

“No one can swim”

In addition to the training facilities, Celal Atik Swimming Pool and İzmir Marina facilities will also be opened for swimming training. Within the scope of the social responsibility project carried out with the motto of “Let No Swimmers Stay”, children who cannot swim will be able to receive training in İzmir Marina through projects carried out jointly with the headmen's offices and solidarity centres. Portable pools will be established in the "disadvantaged neighborhoods" of Konak, Bornova, Karabağlar, Çiğli, Menemen, Kiraz and Beydağ to encourage water sports.

It appeals to all

The fees of summer sports schools vary between 60 TL and 150 TL. Bayraklı, Karabağlar, Evka-4 Naim Süleymanoğlu and Çiçek Carpet Field, badminton, volleyball, futsal, basketball at Çırpı Multi-Purpose Sports Hall, step-aerobics at Foça Bağarası, badminton at Asarlık Multi-Purpose Sports Hall, Beydağ Spor Gymnasium, football and volleyball, step-aerobics, zumba, healthy life for adults in six different facilities, wrestling at Uzundere Can Çağnay Sports Hall, swimming for special students in Bornova Pool İzmir, in six different facilities within the scope of the “Sports in all fields, at all ages” project. Basketball training will be provided free of charge to special students at Celal Atik Sports Hall.

Those who were born in 2017 and before can join sports schools without seeking any other criteria.
