'Classical Turkish Music Choir' Concert at Ege University

Ege University “Classical Turkish Music Chorus” performed a concert at Atatürk Cultural Center with the organization of Ege University Health, Culture and Sports Department. To the concert; Aysel Ildızlı, Head of the Department of Health, Culture and Sports of EU, attended by many academicians, students and art lovers from İzmir.

In the first part of the concert, which was performed under the artistic direction of Halil İbrahim Yüksel, EÜ State Turkish Music Conservatory Voice Education Department Instructor; He sang selections from the works of Ustad Bestekar Selâhaddîn Pınar. The distinguished works performed by the Presidential State Classical Turkish Music Chorus Sound Artist Münip Utandı, who participated in the second part of the event as a guest soloist, were applauded for a long time by the audience.

At the end of the concert, Aysel Ildızlı, Head of EÜ Health, Culture and Sports Department, presented Münip Utandı with flowers and a plaque of appreciation.

Who is Munip Shame?

He was born in Antakya in 1952. Having completed his primary and secondary education in his hometown, Münip Utandı entered Istanbul University Faculty of Law to complete his higher education. During his studentship, he took part in university and society choirs under the management of names such as Ruhi Ayangil, Ali Rıza Kural, Melahat Pars, Süheylâ Altmışdört and Ender Ergün. In 1976, Prof. Dr. He started his professional music career as a sound artist in the Istanbul State Classical Turkish Music Choir, which was established under the direction of Mr. Nevzat Atlığ. Utandı participated in many festivals, concerts and special invitations as a soloist. He continues his concerts and album works with different ensembles.
