Industry and Technology Minister Mustafa Varank visited BENTAŞ, which produces cat litter from bentonite extracted in Ordu and exports to 76 countries. Noting that there are those who criticize by saying, “The facility has a daily loading capacity of 40 trucks, currently they load 35 trucks of cat litter per day and export them abroad. BENTAŞ company, which was established in the city in 2007, has been producing cat litter by processing the bentonite mine in the region since its establishment in 2009. The company, which employs 350 people in the Fatsa Organized Industrial Zone (OSB), is targeting 200 thousand tons of production and 70 million dollars export income this year.
The company, which contributes to the country's economy by exporting to 76 countries, aims to increase the employment figure to 400 with the fifth production facility it plans to open in September this year.
Minister Varank, who visited the company, said that the company exports very seriously and has a large production facility.
Emphasizing that they are concerned about developing Turkey with value-added products, Varank continued as follows:
“A mineral such as bentonite has been processed here and turned into a very serious product with the necessary R&D studies, and now very serious exports are made. I asked about their exports this year, approximately $15 million of cat litter has been exported so far, and they have three times more targets until the end of the year. Indeed, the fact that such a value-added business has been undertaken in our Ordu, Fatsa, that our companies invest in this business and create added value, and that they create their own brands, is very valuable and important in terms of showing the point the production economy has reached all over Turkey.”

Minister Varank pointed out that the signing of such a value-added business is important in terms of showing the point where the production economy has reached all over Turkey, and said, “Our company has a demand to become an R&D Center.
