It was put into service with a ceremony held with the participation of company representatives. Speaking at the opening, Minister Karaismailoğlu said, “Adana is getting the share it deserves from our big investment moves.” said.

“The total cost of 12 different highway projects in Adana reaches 5 billion 334 million liras”

Stating that they have spent 15 billion 517 million liras for Adana's transportation and communication investments so far, Karaismailoğlu said that they have increased the length of the divided road in Adana to 431 kilometers and increased driving safety on the roads. Karaismailoğlu stated the following about the highway investments made in Adana: “During our governments, in Adana; We have completed 238 kilometers of single road construction and improvement. We have completed and put into service 2 bridges with a total length of 482 thousand 37 meters. We increased the expenditure on highways in Adana to 10 billion 450 million liras. The total cost of 12 different highway projects in Adana reaches 5 billion 334 million liras.”

“Baklalı Köprülü Junction is a part of the 213-kilometer highway project”

Pointing out that Baklalı Köprülü Junction constitutes a part of the 213-kilometer highway project, Minister Karaismailoğlu announced that 86,5 kilometers of this amount is within the provincial borders of Adana.

Minister Karaismailoğlu stated that Baklalı Köprülü Junction will significantly alleviate the vehicle traffic density of the region. Stating that the Hacı Sabancı Organized Industrial Zone, which constitutes a large part of Adana's trade potential, has developed predominantly in the east direction and the Misis OIZ Junction has become unable to meet the increasing density, Karaismailoğlu said, "For this reason, the Baklalı Köprülü Junction, which we have designed in the eastern part of the OIZ Hacı Sabancı will accelerate the development of the OIZ. With the opening of Baklalı Junction, it will also facilitate access to Baklalı Village and other settlements.” he said.

Speaking at the ceremony, General Manager Uraloğlu explained that Baklalı Köprülü Junction was built because the existing Misis Junction serving in the region was far from the Organized Industrial Zone.

Providing information about the project, Uraloğlu stated that the crossroads consists of a 53 m long rotating island with 2 485 m bridges and a 2.960 m long two-lane intersection branches. 137 thousand cubic meters of trench excavation, 6 thousand 500 cubic meters of reinforced concrete, 766 tons of reinforced concrete, 34 thousand tons of plantmix foundation and sub-base, 29 thousand tons of bituminous hot mix were manufactured. Baklalı Köprülü Junction has provided a safe and comfortable connection of Hacı Sabancı Organized Industrial Zone to Tarsus-Adana-Gaziantep Highway, and the traffic volume of Misis Junction has been reduced.” used the phrases.
