The lowest pension was 3.500 TL. The article in the Planning Budget Committee of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, which stipulates that the lowest pension from 2 TL, to 500 thousand TL, has been changed. Accordingly, the lowest pension will be 3 thousand 3 TL.
The AKP, which submitted a bill to the Parliament to increase the minimum pension from 2 thousand 500 lira to 3 thousand lira, had to increase the lowest pension to 3 thousand 500 liras as a result of pressure from retirees and opposition parties.
AKP deputies put a clause in the bag bill to increase the minimum pension to 3 thousand liras. However, while a 40 percent increase in salaries was expected, a 20 percent increase in pensions drew a great reaction.
With the proposal accepted in the Plan and Budget Committee of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, it was decided to increase the minimum pension by 40 percent to 3 thousand 500 liras.
After the discussions, the proposal was put into action. Meanwhile, CHP deputies said that it would not be enough to increase the minimum pension to 3 thousand 500 liras and that it should be equal to the minimum wage. However, this proposal was not accepted.
