İzmir Metropolitan Municipality, which is on its way to have a say in the world fair organization, will bring together the important representatives of the logistics sector, whose global size exceeds 5,5 trillion dollars, at Fuar İzmir in autumn. Speaking at the introductory meeting of the Logistech-Logistics, Storage and Technologies Fair, which will be held for the first time by İZFAŞ, İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Tunç Soyer, said that the fair is a step towards strengthening İzmir's position in the logistics sector and increasing its prosperity.

Logistech – Logistics, Storage and Technologies Fair, which will be held by İZFAŞ on 29 September-1 October 2022, hosted by İzmir Metropolitan Municipality, was introduced to sector representatives. Soyer: “One of the fastest growing sectors”

Chairman Soyer said, “Logistics is one of the fastest growing sectors in the world. For this reason, it is our primary priority to increase the share of İzmir, which is a natural logistics geography, from this sector. Throughout history, Izmir has served as a heart, expanding the cultural and economic relations between Europe and Asia. It has become one of the biggest trade centers of the Mediterranean with its port and wide hinterland starting from the Gulf and extending to the entire Aegean and Western Anatolia. İzmir still maintains its value for the logistics industry with its 4,5 million population, the fact that it is only three hours away by direct flights to the important points of the world, and its numerous ports.

“It will strengthen the position of Izmir”

Stating that the "One Belt One Road Project" carried out under the leadership of China and other global developments constitute the rational basis for this excitement, Chairman Soyer continued his words as follows: “The logistics center to be established in Kemalpaşa will function as a very important supply point between the Aegean Region and our port. Izmir Metropolitan Municipality is working meticulously on the approach roads, including the rail system, in order to make this center more functional. For these reasons, we highly value the relationship between Izmir and the logistics industry. Logistech – Logistics Storage and Technologies Fair is undoubtedly a very important step towards our goal of increasing the welfare of İzmir. Our fair will bring together the national and international logistics sector and will further strengthen the position of İzmir in this regard.”

All stakeholders of the sector will meet at Fair İzmir

It is seen that the global size of the logistics sector has exceeded 2021 trillion dollars by the end of 5,5. It is estimated that the approximate value of the growth that will occur in the market until 2026 will reach 16,5 billion dollars. With this rapid development, the logistics sector has a special importance for İzmir. The main theme of Logistech is to make İzmir a trade and logistics center in the Mediterranean basin, to become an international port city, to develop the sectors that trade by sea and land, and thus to support employment. In addition to land, sea, air and railway logistics companies, companies operating in the fields of storage, prefabricated production, cold chain, information technologies and automation, e-commerce service providers, fuel, transportation vehicles, cargo transportation equipment, banks, insurance, customs clearance will attend the fair. companies, port operators, non-governmental organizations in the sector and sectoral broadcasters are expected to participate.
