Minister Karaismailoğlu: We aim for a transportation investment of 189 billion dollars

Speaking at the ceremony held for the completion of the excavation work of the T7 Mlinarji Tunnel, TR Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu. Stating that the positive relations between the two countries in all areas are felt in the projects developed jointly, he said: “After the Strategic Partnership Document between Turkey and Slovenia signed in 2011, our economic relations have gained a great momentum. kazanwas. In this context, our bilateral trade volume is over 2 billion dollars.

As Turkey, we have a developed infrastructure and significant experience in the services sector, especially in contracting. More than 131 thousand projects worth more than 450 billion dollars have been undertaken in 11 countries. Our country is in the top three with 250 companies in the list of the world's largest 42 contracting companies. Our Turkish contracting companies have undertaken nearly 200 infrastructure projects in Europe such as highways, tunnels, bridges and railways. We see the signature of Turkish contractors in many projects in Slovenia, including the Karavenke tunnel.

With this project, our contractors undertake the most strategic and important investment in Slovenia. With Koper Port, which positions Slovenia as the logistics gate of Europe, the service capacity on this corridor will increase and the reliability of the service will reach the highest level. Our country, which is on the way to become a logistics superpower, has assumed important responsibilities by transforming into an alternative, strong logistics and production base between Asia and Europe in the Middle Corridor. The importance of Turkey in international trade, especially located in the 'Middle Corridor' of the historical silk road stretching from China to London, has been proven once again. As Turkey, we have become the logistics corridor of the world by continuing our projects without a break. We aim to allocate the largest share to the railway sector in the transportation investment of 30 billion dollars that we plan to make in the next 189 years and to increase the railway share from 5% in freight transport to approximately 22%.

It will employ 1000 people

Speaking at the ceremony, Başar Arıoğlu stated that the Divaca - Koper Railway has a special importance for them, as it is the second project they are carrying out in Europe after their ongoing activities in Sweden. Arıoğlu said that completing challenging engineering projects before the planned time and with extraordinary success has now become a Yapı Merkezi classic.

“It is a source of happiness and pride for me that our Company takes part in national projects that will contribute greatly to the economic development of Slovenia, of which I am the Honorary Consul. First the 2nd part (LOT 2) tender of the Divaca-Koper Railway Project, which is the biggest construction project of Slovenia in recent years, and then the 1st part (LOT 1) tenders in 2021 with a contract value of more than 600 million Euros in total. kazanWe have shown success. Within the scope of the project, whose signature ceremony was held in March 2021, with the Del - Pop Method; There are 37,9 tunnels of 11 km and two viaducts with 452 and 647 m lengths under construction.

The consortium led by Yapı Merkezi has achieved another first and completed the excavation of the first tunnel of 1200 m today, prematurely, by piercing the Slovenian Alps containing karst caves and crush zones. T20 Mlinarji Tunnel, the excavation of which started on September 2021, 7, is the first tunnel of the Project to be excavated as of today. As Yapı Merkezi, which continues to represent our country in Europe with success, we are happy to have completed the T7 Tunnel in 370 days, much less than the projected excavation period of 266 days. Within the scope of the project, a total of 1000 people will be employed within Yapı Merkezi and its subcontractors, 600 of which will be Turkish. We plan to complete this important project in the second quarter of 2025.”

Yapı Merkezi entrusts Slovenia's most strategic investment

Stating that tunnels have been opened in limestone-based karst rock formations unique to the Alps, which are considered to be of high difficulty in the field of tunnel engineering, Arıoğlu also underlined that they continue to work without harming the world-famous forests and natural life of Slovenia. Stating that the service capacity of Koper Port, which has positioned Slovenia as the logistics gate of Europe, will increase with the project and its service reliability will be maximized, Başar Arıoğlu stated that from this point of view, the project is the most strategic and important infrastructure investment of Slovenia.
