Europe's largest green innovation and ideas festival GREENTECH FESTIVAL begins. Being one of the founding partners of the international sustainability festival held this year with the slogan #TogetherWeChange-We Change Together- and held on the grounds of the former Tegel Airport in Berlin, Audi introduces its projects on sustainability.
During the festival, visitors can learn about the technologies and concepts Audi has developed and implemented to increase sustainability in its value chain.
The festival is also witnessing a first this year: KOA22. Many talents of the industry meet at KOA22, the first HR festival organized for women.
At the festival, Audi also gives information about its efforts to integrate sustainability into every department, which it started with the Audi Sustainability Center - Audi Sustainability Hub.
GREENTECH FESTIVAL 2022, which offers a platform that promotes work for a sustainable future and brings together ideas and suggestions on sustainable development, climate and environmental protection, begins.
More than 1 participating companies took part in events such as forums, panels and training camps at the festival, which was brought to life in 2018 by former Formula 100 World Champion Nico Rosberg and two engineers and entrepreneurs Marco Voigt and Sven Krüger, and Audi is one of the founding partners. taking.

Sustainability in the supply chain
Audi, which wants to gradually reduce its vehicle-specific carbon emissions by 2030 percent until 2018, compared to the 40 reference year, is working at full speed to achieve this ambitious target. It has saved more than 2021 thousand tons of carbon equivalent in 480 thanks to the use of renewable energy, low-carbon materials and secondary materials, especially by intervening in various ways in the supply chain processes.
Aiming to create more and more closed material cycles with its circular economy strategy, the brand also focuses on reintroducing unused materials into the production process. The most recent example of this is also on display at the festival: In the pilot project implemented with its partners Reiling Glas Recycling, Saint-Gobain Glass and Saint-Gobain Sekurit, obsolete automobile glass is reused for the glasses of Audi Q4 e-tron models.
Carbon-free production facilities
With its environmental program called The Mission:Zero, Audi has also determined the roadmap for sustainable production and logistics. Aiming to make its production facilities carbon-free by 2025, the brand has also taken the first steps towards this. In 2018, it became the world's first carbon-neutral high-volume production facility in the premium segment with its facilities in Brussels, and its facilities in Hungary achieved this goal in 2020. In addition, the Neckarsulm facilities where the Audi e-tron GT is produced are also carbon neutral. In addition, the production facilities in Neckarsulm have been processing wastewater and using it in the production process since 2019.
Audi charging center
During the festival, visitors have the opportunity to get to know the charging stations, among the examples of Audi's environmental and sustainability efforts. Aiming to increase the number of Audi Charging Centers that offer fast charging in urban areas, Audi also uses used lithium-ion batteries in these centers as power storage systems for charging cubes. These batteries, which are removed from Audi test vehicles, are evaluated in their second life, especially in fast charging stations.
Audi Environment Foundation projects
Festival visitors also have the opportunity to get to know examples from the works of the Audi Environmental Foundation: electric rickshaws on the roads of India, solar lanterns built in three villages in the Amazon region of Brazil that do not have electricity, particles harmful to the environment, such as tire wear, through the sewage system. Many exemplary works such as smart filters used in road drainage that prevent water from mixing with water are explained to the visitors.
