National weightlifter Muhammed Furkan Özbek from ASKİ Sports, who won 2 gold and 1 bronze medals at the “Elderly European Weightlifting Championships” held in Albania, was enthusiastically welcomed by club managers, colleagues and relatives at Esenboğa Airport.

National weightlifter Muhammed Furkan Özbek from ASKİ Spor became the European champion in the “Elderly European Weightlifting Championships” held in Albania. The champion weightlifter was greeted with Turkish flags by ABB Youth and Sports Services Department Head Mustafa Artunç, ASKİ Sports Club Weightlifting Branch Manager Oğuzhan Alpaslan, ASKİ Sports Coordinator Abdullah Çakmar, his colleagues and relatives at Esenboğa Airport.

WINS A GOLD MEDAL WITH A TOTAL 339 KG DEGREE

National weightlifter Muhammed Furkan Özbek, who returned to the Capital with 2 gold and 1 bronze medals, where he was enthusiastically welcomed with the performances of the Mehter Team, competed in 73 kilograms and won the bronze medal with 149 kilograms in snatch and 190 kilograms in clean and jerk and became the champion with a total of 339 kilograms.

Traveling from the airport to the city center by an open-top bus and greeting the Capitalists, ASKİ Sports National Weightlifter Muhammed Furkan Özbek expressed his feelings and thoughts with the following words:

“First of all, it was a very nice welcome, I am very excited. The result was what we expected. The competition went very well for us. It was the first game of our season. It was to our advantage that the competition went well. After that, we have 3 more big competitions. I aim to win championships in the Mediterranean and Islamic Games, which are not available in my career. Our preparations for 2024 have already begun.”

Abdullah Çakmar, ASKİ Sports Coordinator, stated that they are proud of the national weightlifter and said, “The medals we have won will not be enough because we have always broken new ground in the world as ABB ASKİ Sports Club. We have been successful in all branches. We accelerated Turkish sports with the gold medals we won. I would like to thank all our athletes, technical team and all our employees. This is a team effort and hopefully we will continue to win a gold medal in the 2024 Olympics with this team," he said.
