The Ministry of Education announced that in the last 10 years, 600 thousand people completed a doctoral program in China and obtained a doctorate, and in the same period, 6,6 million graduate diplomas were found. The Ministry also stated that this phenomenon provides a great support for skilled manpower for the development of the country.
Hong Dayong, Head of Diploma Processing Management and Post-University Education Department, pointed out during a press conference that China has intensified its efforts to support vocational diploma programs as well as its continuous efforts to develop university degree programs.
While graduates of a professional master's program accounted for about 2012 percent of the total master's degree holders in 35, Hong stated that this rate reached 2021 percent in 58. In the same 10-year period, the rate of vocational doctorate holders increased from 5,8 percent to 9 percent.
