The Optimist World Championship Sailing Races, which will be held in Bodrum between June 27 and July 7, in cooperation with the IODA International Optimist Class Association and the Turkish Sailing Federation, will be held under the name of 2022 Arkas Optimist World Championship, hosted by Bodrum Belediyespor Sailing Branch. 62 optimist boats were transported to our country with Arkas Logistics for the championship, which reached the highest number of participants in its history with 282 athletes from 240 countries of the world.

The Optimist World Championship, which took place once in Kocaeli Yarımca in 60 and once in İzmir in 1976 throughout its 2008-year history, is being held for the third time this year in Turkey, under the name of the 2022 Arkas World Optimist Championship, in Bodrum. The championship, in which 62 athletes from 282 countries participated, broke a new record by reaching the highest number of participating countries in its history.
In races where fierce competition is expected, the best sailors aged 15 and under, representing their countries from all over the world, will test their skills.
Athletes who will compete for 6 days will fight to be the first to reach the finish line in both individual races and team races they will participate in as a country.
The most colorful squares of the championship will appear in team races. Bodrum residents will enjoy watching the races, which will take place on 2-3 July, on the observation decks.

240 boats… 38 days… 19 thousand km
Arkas Logistics, the "Logistics Solution Partner" of the 2022 World Optimist Championship organized in cooperation with the IODA International Optimist Class Association and the Turkish Sailing Federation, carried out the transportation process of all the boats participating in the race with its strength and expertise in logistics, and 180 from China and 60 from Poland in total. He delivered two optimist boats to Bodrum on time.
Arkas Logistics brought the boats it bought from Poland in the first leg of the transportation to Bodrum by FTL transportation by road, covering a distance of 3.084 km in as little as six days. Only in this transport, 2.100 boats with a total weight of 60 kg were delivered to the Turkish Sailing Federation.
180 optimist boats came to Bodrum from Shanghai, China. Arkas Logistics, carrying 180 boats with 3 40' containers, transported the containers to Bodrum Sailing Club by sidelifter after the ships arrived at İzmir-Aliağa and İstanbul-Ambarlı ports. Then Arkas Logistics and the Turkish Sailing Federation unloaded the boats and delivered them to the racers who will participate in the world championship. In the process where all logistics planning and transportation is carried out by Arkas Logistics, assuming that each boat is 2,30 meters in length and 35 kilograms, Arkas Logistics covers a total of 8 km in 6 days to transport 240 boats with a weight exceeding 38 tons and a length exceeding 19 football fields when connected end-to-end. made it through.
