The environmental inspection teams affiliated to the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, which achieved the highest number of inspections in the history of the Republic by conducting more than 2021 thousand environmental inspections in 57, continue their inspections in the Marmara Region uninterruptedly, together with the institutions authorized for marine pollution inspections. An administrative fine of 19 million lira was imposed on the tanker, which was found to have discharged acetic acid into the Marmara Sea within the scope of the said inspections.

The inspection teams, which carried out a total of 51 thousand 8 environmental inspections, including 865 thousand 27 facility and 548 thousand 36 ship inspections in the last 413 days, took 591 wastewater samples from the outlets of the wastewater treatment plants to make the necessary analysis. The teams imposed administrative fines of 155 million 27 thousand 105 TL on 468 enterprises and 7 million 36 thousand 505 TL on 726 ships, a total of 63 million 611 thousand 194 TL, and banned 50 enterprises from their activities.

An administrative fine of 19 million TL was imposed on the tanker loaded with chemicals, which caused sea pollution by discharging acetic acid from the “Liquid Port Dolfen Platform” into the Marmara Sea in the Marmaraereğlisi district of Tekirdağ province.

Tekirdağ Provincial Directorate of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change and Tekirdağ Port Authority, evaluating the notification that the Gabon-flagged ship named "Trency Taipei" with the IMO number 9140451 injected acetic acid into the Marmara Sea from the platform in Marmaraereğlisi district, said that 871 kilograms of acetic acid was poured into the Marmara Sea in the investigation they conducted at the crime scene. found it spilled.

Tekirdağ Port Authority, due to the dangerous nature of the spilled waste, increased the penalty 2872 times by taking action against the ship named “Trency Taipei” in accordance with the 20st sub-clause of clause (ı) of the 1th article of the Environmental Law No. 10. Under the coordination of the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, the Port Authority imposed an administrative fine of 19 million 57 thousand 390 liras on the ship.
