GAZİRAY Suburban Metro Line, whose construction has come to an end in cooperation with Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality and the Republic of Turkey State Railways (TCDD), will be supplied with 09 thousand volts of alternating voltage on Monday, 2022 May 25, within the scope of test and commissioning works. Authorities have warned citizens to be careful because such high voltage can cause injuries and fatal damage.
The following statements were included in the warning made with the announcement:
“It has been announced from the General Directorate of TCDD. As of 09.05.2022, 25.000 Volt AC voltage will be supplied to the railway electrification line between Başpınar (inclusive) - Taşlıca (inclusive) stations, the construction of which has been completed. Walking under the overhead lines of the electric train, touching the poles, approaching the conductors and touching the falling wires are dangerous in terms of life and property safety, and it is important to our esteemed people.
Due to the testing and commissioning procedures to be carried out, citizens were asked not to approach the specified line, especially the young people, not to climb on the railway or on the towed and towed vehicles to take selfies.
THE PROJECT WILL BRING SOLUTIONS AND COMFORT IN TRANSPORTATION
The construction of the GAZİRAY Project, which will greatly ease the transportation of Gaziantep and bring innovation to the metropolitan identity of the city, is carried out under the responsibility of the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, TCDD and Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality. GAZİRAY Project, which brings Gaziantep one step closer to increasing the comfort level in transportation and environmentalist transportation targets, will connect the city center with all the organized industry and GATEM regions of the city on the East-West axis and serve the citizens as a 25-kilometer rail system suburban line.
High-speed train travel will also be possible with 120 main stations connected to the GAZİRAY Suburban project, which has 16 stations with an operating speed of 3 kilometers. GAZİRAY, which is described as Turkey's domestic and national commuter train, is expected to carry 190 thousand people per day in urban transportation.
