In the January-April period of 2022, which breaks export records every year, the aquaculture sector, which brought Turkey 16 million dollars in foreign currency with an increase of 472 percent, organized a Fish-Bread Festival in Azerbaijan, a friendly and brotherly country.

Within the scope of the Agreement on Cooperation in the Field of Fisheries between the Government of the Republic of Turkey and the Government of Azerbaijan, in order to strengthen the cooperation in fisheries and aquaculture and to promote Turkish fish, on May 18-20 in Baku, Azerbaijan; The Fish-Bread Festival is held in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, Aegean Fisheries and Animal Products Exporters' Association, Aquaculture Producers' Central Union. Azerbaijanis showed great interest in the event in Baku Expo Center.

Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Vahit Kirişçi, Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Ali Asadov, Minister of Agriculture İnam Kerimov, Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of Azerbaijan Muhtar attended the Fish-Bread Festival held during the 15th Azerbaijan International Agriculture Fair “Caspian Agro” in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan. Babayev joined. Minister of Agriculture and Forestry, Vahit Kirişçi, who made his first overseas visit to Azerbaijan after becoming the Minister of Agriculture and Forestry, distributed fish and bread to the participants.

Emphasizing that Turkey attaches great importance to the aquaculture sector and has made investments in the last 20 years, Minister Kirişci said, “Thankfully, we have reaped the fruits of this importance. We both increased our production and increased our exports. Turkey has become an important country that exports only 1 billion 400 million dollars in aquaculture. We wanted to not spare our brothers, let them taste these water products. The 15th Azerbaijan International Agriculture Fair is a very well-prepared fair, and it is also pleasing that 450 of the 54 participants are Turkish companies.”

Sharing the information that 70 percent of Turkey's aquaculture exports are from the Aegean Region, Aegean Fisheries and Animal Products Exporters' Association Accountant Member and İzmir Aquaculture Growers and Producers' Association President Ufuk Atakan Demir, together with the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, said that He stated that they are very happy to organize a Fish-Bread Festival in our sister country Azerbaijan, and that they want to diversify their export markets in order to reach the 2023 billion dollars export target they have set for 2 as the Turkish aquaculture sector.
