Under the coordination of the Ministry of Interior, with the ARA-BUL-NO ET tactic, on February 19, Air Force, JIHA and SİHA supported EREN WINTER-9 (AĞRI MOUNTAIN) MARTY J.ASB.KD.ÇVŞ. Operation EMRE DOKUMACI was initiated, under the command of Erzurum Jardarma Regional Command; There were 1.592 personnel and 82 teams, consisting of Gendarmerie Commando, Gendarmerie Special Operations (JÖH), Police Special Operations (PÖH) and Security Guard teams.
Within the scope of the operation carried out, a cave with a length of 100 meters, a depth of 28 meters and the shape of the letter "Y" used by members of the PKK/KCK Separatist Terrorist Organization (BTO) was identified. Upon the determination of the terrorists' shelter, the button was pressed for the operation.
The Cave is Circled
The underground natural cave area, where the terrorists live, was first surrounded by the Commandos. Calls to "surrender" were made to the terrorists. After the "surrender" calls were responded to with fire, the aircraft belonging to the Air Force Command bombed the places close to the targets determined.
Lasted 80 Days, 14 Trucks Excavated
In the area where the 100-meter-long cave is located, 1,5 km of roads were built so that the construction equipment could work. 7 excavators, 2 dozers, 2 castling machines and technical equipment were shipped to the region.
As a result of the work that lasted for 80 days and 6.636 hours, the underground cave was unearthed by removing 14.770 trucks of excavation from the region.
In addition, as part of the expanded operation, all caves and underground shelters in the region were identified and rendered unusable by the commandos.
Minister Süleyman Soylu made a morale visit
During the operation, which was carried out secretly and meticulously at every stage by the Gendarmerie teams, our Minister, Mr. Süleyman Soylu and Gendarmerie General Commander General Arif Çetin went to the region, conducted on-site inspections, received information about the operation, and gave morale to the troops.
Pain Group deactivated
As a result of the operation completed on 09 May 2022; 11 separatist organization members, including the leader of the separatist terrorist organization Mount Ararat, were neutralized.
In operation;
- 28 bunkers-warehouses-shelters were destroyed,
- 23 Mines-IEDs,
- 2 thermal binoculars,
- 2 gun-mounted binoculars,
- 2 large radios,
- A large amount of weapons, ammunition, food and life materials and organizational documents belonging to the terrorists were seized with 4 small radios.
