TCDD Tasimacilik and the Republic of North Macedonia Railways came together

TCDD Transportation Inc. The meeting on the development of bilateral cooperation opportunities between the General Directorate of Railways of the Republic of North Macedonia and the railway administrations of the Republic of North Macedonia was held in Ankara. At the meeting, it was requested to continue the negotiations for the operation of the Istanbul Thessaloniki Skopje Passenger Train

TCDD Transportation Inc. Deputy General Managers Erol Arıkan, Çetin Altun, Şinasi Kazancıoğlu, Heads of Departments and representatives of the Republic of North Macedonia Railways participated in the meeting, which was chaired by General Manager Hasan Pezük and coordinated by the Strategy Development Department.

General Manager Hasan Pezük exchanged ideas with his colleague Mubekir Palloshi on locomotive rental, putting the passenger train into operation in the direction of Istanbul-Thessaloniki-Skopje and vice versa, and the repair of traction units and towed vehicles in Turkey belonging to the Republic of North Macedonia Railways.

Pezük: “Railway passenger transportation is gradually increasing its share among other transportation types. Our Istanbul-Sofia Express, which was suspended under pandemic conditions, resumed its flights in April. Reuniting its passengers after three years, the Orient Express will also arrive in Istanbul in August. Cooperation is important for the development of international rail passenger transport. We continue to work on new international routes. Our activities continue to operate trains between Istanbul-Thessaloniki-Skopje.”
