The Acquisition of TÜLOMSAŞ is Eskişehir's Sadness

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the "Rail Industry Show" Railway Industry Infrastructure and Technologies Fair, President Büyükerşen said, "It is the common sadness of the people of Eskişehir that a giant like TÜLOMSAŞ is taken away from Eskişehir."

Modern Fairs Inc. “Rail Industry Show” Railway Industry Infrastructure and Technologies Fair organized by ETO TÜYAP Fair and Congress Center opened its doors to its visitors. The fair, which took place on 10-12 May, is among the other institutions supporting the event, including Metropolitan Municipalities Rail System Enterprises, Ankara Chamber of Industry, Eskişehir Chamber of Commerce, DTD Railway Transport Association, Rail Systems Association, UTIKAD, DMD and Eskişehir Chamber of Industry.

In the fair, Eskişehir Light Rail System Enterprise (ESTRAM) also welcomes its visitors by opening a stand. Addressing the participants at the opening of the fair, Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Prof. Dr. Yılmaz Büyükerşen told the participants about the adventure of the farmers and traders of Bursa in establishing an electricity distribution and tram construction company in Eskişehir during the Ottoman Empire.

Emphasizing that Eskişehir is a railway city, Büyükerşen said, “Eskişehir Cer Atölyesi, which was established in 1894 for the maintenance and repairs of trains to run on the Istanbul-Hicaz railway line, operated as TÜLOMSAŞ in the following period. But unfortunately, a giant organization like TÜLOMSAŞ was taken from Eskişehir and the branch of TÜRASAŞ, whose headquarters is in Ankara, was made. Maybe I shouldn't have said this at a time like this, but if I didn't express it, I wouldn't have responded to the warnings that the people of Eskişehir have given me. As Eskişehir's Metropolitan Municipality Mayor, I consider it my duty to say these words because they are the common sorrow of all Eskişehir residents. I believe that the fair will be beneficial for our city, and I would like to thank everyone who contributed.”

Deputy Governor Kubilay Ant, AKP Deputies Nabi Avcı and Emine Nur Günay, IYI Party Deputy Arslan Kabukcuoğlu, Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Yılmaz Büyükerşen, Adana Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Zeydan Karalar, Tepebaşı Mayor Ahmet Ataç, Odunpazarı Mayor Kazım Kurt, Commerce President of the Chamber of Industry Metin Güler, President of the Chamber of Industry Celalettin Kesikbaş, President of EOSB Nadir Küpeli, university rectors and many guests attended.

After the opening, Mayor Büyükerşen, Mayor of Adana Metropolitan Municipality Zeydan Karalar and accompanying delegation visited the stands of participating private companies, especially the stands of ESTRAM, Adana, Izmir and Istanbul Metropolitan Municipalities.
