Tolga and Atilla Gökova, the two sons of the doyen sailor Cumhur Gökova, who is known as the teacher of the instructors in sailing and who has made the world tour with a sailboat, recently rolled up their sleeves for the Sailing Turkey Tour Record attempt.
Atilla and Tolga Gökova, who sailed from Hopa to Iskenderun with their 38-foot-long sailing racing boats without using motor power, became the new owner of the Turkish record with a timing of 13 days, 15 hours, 2 minutes and 58 seconds. Opel Mokka-e accompanied the Gökova brothers, who started the record attempt with the aim of drawing attention to the issue of zero waste, the importance of sea cleaning and the climate crisis by traveling with sustainable and clean energy. During the record attempt, the brothers, who wanted to emphasize the sustainability of life by producing their own energy, made their land journey with the new electric Opel Mokka and completed their journey with only sustainable energy sources. On the other hand, they set the new record with the Turkish record they broke.
Tolga and Atilla Gökova set sail for the Turkey Tour Record attempt exactly 13 days ago. The two brothers broke the Turkish record by reaching Iskenderun from Hopa with their 38 feet long sailing racing boats without using engine power. On the way to the 'start' line of the 'Turkey Tour Record', which they completed in 13 days, 15 hours, 2 minutes and 58 seconds, they preferred Mokka-e.
Gokova Brothers' choice on land was Opel Mokka-e
Opel's 100 percent electric model Mokka-e, which continues its move towards electric mobility without slowing down, proved to be the most suitable model for travel with sustainable and clean energy during the record period of the two brothers. During their land travels, the followers of the duo never left them alone. During their journey to Hopa, the starting point by land, the two brothers answered questions about the Opel Mokka-e on social media.
They covered 13 miles in 1500 days
Sailor and sailing instructor brothers Tolga and Atilla Gökova, who sailed from Hopa on May 2, 2022, managed to reach Iskenderun by covering 38 miles in 13 days to set the new Turkish record with their 1500-foot race boat.
While breaking the record for the Tour of Turkey, the brothers, who wanted to explain the sustainability of life by producing their own energy without producing carbon footprints, made their land trips with the electric Opel Mokka, and completed their journey with only sustainable energy sources.
In this project, brothers Atilla and Tolga Gökova preferred to walk with brands that serve the same purpose. They succeeded the hard way and now they are the new holders of the Turkey Tour Record. Opel, on the other hand, became an important part of the Sailing Boat Turkey Tour Record by supporting this extraordinary project and underlined once again that it supports electric mobility.
