With the auction to be held tomorrow (May 26), "special olive oils" of 25 local producers and cooperatives, pressed and bottled with traditional methods, will be offered for sale.

“The wise trees were generous”

Let's meet under the shade of these trees, which have not spared us their olives for centuries.” Stating that the olive tree, known as the immortelle tree, has a very important place in the history of humanity, President Soyer said, “The olive tree continues to bear fruit for thousands of years, regardless of the storm or earthquake. It is a symbol of hope for us. Whatever the auction number, there will be nothing to match the value of the olive tree. What we are trying to do is to raise awareness about the olive tree. We strive to support our producers in an agriculture that is in harmony with nature. This auction will also show an example of this understanding.”
Olivtech and Ecology Izmir
The 10th Olivtech Olive, Olive Oil, Dairy Products, Wine and Technologies Fair, which will be organized by İZFAŞ at Fair İzmir, and Ecology İzmir, the only specialized fair of the organic sector in Turkey, will be attended by many famous names for four days with interviews and panels, kitchen shows and competitions. There will also be tasting stands.
Olivtech, which was built to showcase the product diversity of Anatolia, the homeland of olives, and to increase the competitiveness of Turkish companies in the international market, will bring together the leading participants of the industry with professional buyers from all over the world.
Ecology Izmir Fair, on the other hand, will present a wide range of innovative products from organic to cosmetics, from food to certification bodies. “Ecology Forest” and “Organic Market” area will also take place in Ecology İzmir, which is the only fair where organic certified products representing Turkey internationally and all stakeholders of the sector take part.
Half a liter was sold for 30 thousand liras.
The olive oil auction, organized for the first time by Seferihisar Municipality in 2016, showed its greatest success with the event in 2018. Olives collected from 500 trees aged 200 and over identified by Seferihisar Municipality were pressed with traditional methods in the municipality's olive oil factory and sold by auction in 21 categories. The olive oil, which is obtained from the 800-year-old olive tree named Umay Nine, and whose half liter is 30 thousand liras, is shared with Salih Değer and his grandson Sami Değer. Tunç SoyerHe had taken it from her. The proceeds from the sale were given to students as scholarships.
