The Nairobi Highway in Kenya opened today. East Africa's first high-speed highway, built by a Chinese company, has a length of 27,1 kilometers.
The speed limit on the road connecting Jomo Kenyatta International Airport to the city center and the Presidency building has been determined as 80 km/h.
The highway is expected to help alleviate the traffic problem.
Within the scope of the Nairobi Highway Project, which is the first project carried out as a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) in Kenya, the Chinese CRBC company cooperated with the Kenyan government on the Build-Operate-Transfer model.
