MORE THAN HALF WOMEN IN RECRUITMENTS
Speaking at the award ceremony held in Karlsruhe, Germany, METRO ISTANBUL General Manager Özgür Soy said that they started a transformation in 2019 so that women can take part in all stages of social life equally and fairly. Noting that they have increased the rate of female employees at METRO ISTANBUL from 8 percent to 11 percent, Soy said, “Of course, we do not find this ratio sufficient. Our goal is to increase our female employee rate to 25 percent in the short term, and then to equalize it. We still have a long way to go, but it's important. kazanWe have also obtained. When we look at the recruitments we have made in the past 2 years, we see that more than 50 percent of them are women.
SOY: WE WILL CONTINUE TO SAY 'EQUALITY IS HERE'
Stating that the number of female train drivers, which was 2019 in 8, increased to 2022 by 143, Özgür Soy said, “All promotions and recruitments in our company are based on expertise and merit, we believe that no job has a gender, but you can be an expert. Metro women working in different roles today inspire all women. We are also happy and proud that our work is appreciated on international platforms and that we are deemed worthy of an award in the field of gender equality in a male-dominated industry all over the world. In line with our strategy this year, in order to be a role model for male-dominated sectors in our country and in the world, we will continue our work on this issue by saying 'Equality is here'.
