Mavi Hydroelectric Power Plant, which was completed and put into operation by the Konya Metropolitan Municipality at the exit of the Blue Tunnel, has contributed to Turkey's energy distribution lines by producing 2021 million kilowatt-hours of energy since 2.

The Mavi Hydroelectric Power Plant, built by the Konya Metropolitan Municipality within the scope of the KOP, one of the most important projects of Turkey, at the exit of the Blue Tunnel, contributes to domestic and national energy needs.

DOMESTIC AND NATIONAL ENERGY PRODUCTION

Konya Metropolitan Municipality KOSKİ General Manager Ahmet Demir, who examined the power plant that has the capacity to meet the daily electricity needs of a settlement with a total of 25 thousand residences, noted that 250 MWh of energy is produced daily in the power plant, which was completed and put into operation. Demir said, “According to the presence of our water, we will have continued this energy production. The HEPP was commissioned in the last months of 2021. Since its establishment, it has produced 2 million kilowatt-hours of energy and contributed to the energy distribution lines of our country. The importance of such energies is more evident today. There is a need to produce domestic and national energies. In order to contribute to this, our facility has completed its total capacity as 25 megawatts. However, due to the water level, we can only operate almost half of it at the moment. But we think that this amount will increase according to the levels, rains and presence of water in our dams.”

KOSKI DOES THE BUSINESS

Stating that the Mavi HEPP Project is a part of the Konya Plain Project carried out by the General Directorate of State Hydraulic Works, Demir said, “As a result of the protocol we signed with DSI, its construction was completed by our KOSKİ General Directorate, and its operation is still maintained by our General Directorate. Here, when the energy production works at full capacity, it will be able to meet the daily needs of a settlement of 25 thousand residences.” he said.
