In the race, runners and wheelchair citizens sweated together. Ertuğrul Tugay, Deputy Secretary General of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, also took part in the race. Citizens showed great interest in President Soyer, who walked by saluting the runners after he left the race.

Run without finish line

The Turkey leg of the race, supported by the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, was held in Izmir for the fifth time. Wings for Life World Run started at 14.00:15 at Kulturpark. In the race where there was no finish line, the runners tried not to be caught by the Catch Vehicle, which set off at a speed of 35 kilometers half an hour after the start of the race. The vehicle, whose speed increased every half hour, reached a maximum speed of XNUMX km/h. The last male and female competitor behind the catch vehicle will be the winner. The male and female competitor who managed to continue the race that started simultaneously in different parts of the world at the same time will be selected as the world champion. All proceeds from the run will be used for research into the permanent treatment of spinal cord paralysis.
