China National Offshore Petroleum Corporation (CNOOC) and China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC) announced that China-developed smart LNG (liquefied natural gas)-powered rescue vessels have entered service.

It was stated that the delivery of the ships Haiyangshiyou 542 and Haiyangshiyou 547 is a critical step in terms of transformation into digital and smart, as well as China's development in the field of offshore oil equipment.

It has been reported that the dual-fuel vessels are 65,2 meters long, 15,2 meters wide and weigh 2140,5 tons.

The vessels will provide goods transport and salvage services, as well as escorting China's offshore oil and gas development activities.

There are approximately 4 ships of different types providing services to offshore oil and natural gas development activities in the world. It has been reported that the number of ships serving in the seas close to China is over 400, and that smart LNG supported rescue ships will be used for the first time.
