The twenty-fifth of the Waste Battery Collection Campaign, organized by the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality to include waste batteries in the recycling chain without polluting the nature, starts on 6 June.
Working with the aim of instilling the "zero waste" culture into urban life in order to leave a livable world to future generations, İzmir Metropolitan Municipality is launching the Waste Battery Collection Campaign, which it organizes every year in cooperation with the Portable Battery Manufacturers and Importers Association (TAP) and district municipalities, for the twenty-fifth time.
The campaign, which is organized every year during the Environment Week within the scope of the Regulation on the Control of Waste Batteries and Accumulators, will start on Monday, June 6, 2022 at 10.00:XNUMX in front of the Celal Atik Sports Hall in Kültürpark. Thanks to the campaign, the chemical substances (mercury, lead and cadmium) in waste batteries that have completed their useful life or become unusable will be converted without polluting the environment and nature.
“Award Ceremony at Historical Coal Gas”
Waste batteries, which will continue to be collected until the end of the working hours on Wednesday, June 8, will be evaluated in 8 categories, including children, youth, adults, kindergartens, schools, district municipalities, Bizim Ev Family Child Youth Support Center, together with the batteries collected throughout the year. The winners on a category basis will receive their awards at a ceremony to be held at the Historical Coal Gas Factory on Friday, June 17, 2022, between 18.30 and 21.30.
