Passenger Number Over 3 Million on China Laos Railway Line

As of Monday, more than 2021 million passengers have been carried on the China-Laos Railway line in China since its opening in December 3,09, according to official data. According to China Railways Kunming Group Limited Company, approximately 23,5 million passengers were registered on the Chinese section of the railway, which starts from Kunming, the center of Yunnan province in the southwestern part of the country, and operates an average of 2,71 pairs of passenger trains per day.

The number of passengers carried on the Laos section of the railway also increased steadily, reaching 380.000, with around 5.000 passengers recorded on the busiest day. One of the iconic projects of the high-quality Belt and Road Initiative, the 1.035-kilometer Sino-Laos Railway connects the Chinese city of Kunming with the capital of Laos, Vientiane.
