The Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure announced that a record was broken in railways after Istanbul Airport. Noting that 29 passengers were transported on all tracks with YHTs on April 29, the Ministry drew attention to the highest number of passengers carried since its opening.

In the written statement made by the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, it was reminded that in order to meet the increasing passenger demand due to the Ramadan Feast, additional flights were added to the trains and the capacity was increased. In the statement, it was said, "Ankara-Istanbul (Söğütlüçeşme) and Konya-İstanbul (Söğütlüçeşme) High Speed ​​​​Train (YHT) lines have increased their capacity by 10 thousand 728 people with additional flights, and a total of 580 wagons in main line and regional trains, with an increase of 34 thousand 800."

TRAINS ARE FULLY FULL

In the statement, it was noted that the number of daily passenger flights providing intercity services was increased to 272 with the additions of the feast, and it was emphasized that the service was provided with a daily capacity of 75 thousand seats. In the statement, which said, "The passenger trains with numbers between April 29 and May 8 are completely full," it was noted that nearly 1.5 million people visit ticket sales sites daily, and a record was broken in this area.

DAILY TRANSPORT RECORD BROKEN

In the statement, “On April 29, 2022, the highest number of passengers transported since its opening was reached, with 29 thousand 477 passengers carried on all tracks with YHTs. It was recorded as the highest number of passengers carried in this corridor, with 13 passengers between Ankara and Istanbul. In addition, while the average of 502 passengers on the mainline trains was 2022 thousand 10, 684 thousand 30 citizens went on a holiday trip on April 17. On the regional trains, while an average of 868 thousand 2022 people traveled daily in 25, this number reached 591 thousand 29 passengers on April 43.
