Yapı Kredi will turn the collection of Atatürk's personal belongings, which it has kept as safe for future generations, into NFT and will start exhibiting it on Metaverse on May 19.
For this special collection, where extremely rare items such as medals belonging to the founder of our Republic Atatürk, amber rosary, wooden walking stick, gramophone and the eyeglass frame of Atatürk's mother Zübeyde Hanım can be seen as NFTs, Yapı Kredi will open on the Metaverse on 19 May. The first floor of the three-storey building will be converted into a museum.
Arda Öztaşkın, Corporate Communications Director of Yapı Kredi, said that they aim to preserve culture and art and transfer them to future generations in the best way possible. “As the bank of culture and art, Yapı Kredi created NFT versions of our Atatürk archive, which we previously transferred to the digital environment with the 'Virtual Museum', in order to commemorate our great leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and pass on his legacy to future generations. We will exhibit the most valuable pieces of this very valuable collection, which includes personal belongings of Atatürk, on the first floor of our building in the Metaverse universe, which we have converted into a museum. This exhibition, where people of all ages can see and examine the belongings of our great leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk as NFT, is also very valuable for us in terms of conveying his legacy to future generations. With our pioneering and innovative approach in every field, we will continue to follow the technology of the future today and transfer our cultural values to the next generation with all our strength.”
The exhibition, which brings together NFT versions of many personal belongings of Atatürk, can be visited in the Yapı Kredi building, which will be located at the coordinates “-112, -43” on the blockchain-based Metaverse platform Decentraland.
