Izmir Metropolitan Municipality has carried out important works in the last three years to ease the traffic flow and to provide a safe and comfortable transportation. İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Department of Science Affairs and İZBETON teams continued their work with great devotion from the main arteries of the city to the farthest village roads.

2,7 billion was spent on asphalt, surface coating and parquet works

With an investment of 1 billion 743 million liras, 4 million 124 thousand tons of asphalt was poured and an average of 10 meters wide and 2 thousand 104 kilometers long road was asphalted. 6 million 678 thousand square meters (334 kilometers long) plain road was arranged. 4 million 383 thousand square meters (877 kilometers) of key cobblestones were laid.

72 kilometers of new road opened

The tunnel will facilitate transportation from Konak to the intercity bus terminal with the viaducts to be put into service in the coming months. In order to reduce traffic density and congestion in the city, and to ensure uninterrupted and safe traffic flow, intersection arrangements at 56 points were completed. Torbalı Muscovite Stream Highway Bridge, Dikili Bademli Neighborhood Highway Bridge and Vezirağa Highway Bridge over Yeşildere have been completed. A highway bridge was built on the İZBAN line in the Menemen Seyrekköy District, and the connection between the İzmir-Çanakkale Highway and the agricultural lands was ensured. 13 culvert bridges, especially Gaziemir, Karabağlar, Balçova, Menderes and Urla, have been made suitable for vehicle passage. The road bridges in Menemen Hasanlar and Bergama Fevzipaşa Neighborhood, 2 pedestrian bridges in Seferihisar, and a culvert in Urla and Karabağlar are continuing. Renovation works of 9 highway bridges in 14 districts have also started.
