Czech soloist Katerina Vackova will take the stage with the Ankara Metropolitan Municipality City Orchestra under the direction of Conductor Kemal Günç at the opening concert of the festival, which will give art lovers joyful moments with concerts, exhibitions and talks between 7-11 June.
Afyonkarahisar Jazz Festival, organized under the leadership of Afyonkarahisar Classical Music and Jazz Association, which was awarded the 2021 Ministry of Culture and Tourism Special Award, will take place between 7-11 June this year. The festival will start with the opening concert of Czech soloist Katerina Vackova, who will take the stage with the Ankara Metropolitan Municipality City Orchestra under the direction of Conductor Kemal Günç, to be held in the garden of the NG Afyon hotel, sunset concerts to take place in the Phrygian Valley, school talks and Sema Güral Sürmeli's NG Afyon lobby. It will present a rich content with the “Unmasked Faces” exhibition.
The new one of the festival: Sunset Concerts
While the concerts of the festival, which managed to survive despite the pandemic conditions in the past two years, will regain their usual routine, there will also be a very different and fascinating venue under the name "Sunset Concerts". Arpanatolia (Ferhat Erdem – sipsi, cura, ney, kaval, Cemal Özkızıltaş – authentic percussion) founded by the world-famous harpist Çağatay Akyol in Ayazini, Phrygian Valley, one of the archaeological values of Afyon, and Panarp created by Çağatay Akyol and Aydın Yavaş The project will host concerts and will provide art lovers with joyful moments in an enchanting environment.
Art-filled days at school
The "School Talks" section of the festival will be held in classrooms for the first time in two years with the participation of valuable names. The names that will participate in the one-on-one interviews with students at schools this year are as follows:

The festival will be enriched with exhibitions
The group exhibition consisting of the works of five prominent artists (Fethi İzan, Merih Akoğul, Mehmet Ömür, Bülent Özgören and Ferit Yantur) who have made significant contributions to the art of photography in Turkey will also meet with the people of Afyon and visitors as part of the festival. At the festival, the "Unmasked Faces" exhibition, consisting of the forms of disembodied female and male faces, by Sema Güral Sürmeli, ceramic artist and Chairman of the Board of Kütahya Porselen, will meet with the audience in the lobby of NG Afyon.
