Traffic Relieves at Belh Junction

Konya Metropolitan Municipality has completed the physical arrangement works it started at the Belh Junction on Ankara Street, which is one of the intersections with high traffic density. Mayor of Konya Metropolitan Municipality Uğur İbrahim Altay stated that with the Dynamic Junction Control System applied, the traffic at the intersection was greatly relieved.

The physical arrangement work carried out by Konya Metropolitan Municipality at Ankara Caddesi Belh Junction has been completed.

Konya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Uğur İbrahim Altay said that they have implemented important regulations at the intersections with high vehicle density in order to increase the flow of traffic in the city center and to ensure traffic safety.

Noting that the physical arrangement they started at the Belh Junction on Ankara Street has been completed, Mayor Altay said, “After the arrangement, we implemented the Dynamic Junction Control System at the junction and significantly reduced long waiting times. An average of 65 thousand vehicles use the Belh Junction daily. With the arrangement we have made, we have reduced carbon emissions and brought about 40 trees back to nature every day. We will continue to equip the areas in need with smart intersections against the traffic density that occurs with the increase in the number of vehicles in our city every year.” he said.
