• April 6 1941 Germany, Yugoslavia and Greece and Turkey Sign up on the sea border declared war in the Eastern Mediterranean region of Turkey, Edirne and Uzunköprü blew up the railway bridge near.

• 1979 – Turkish athlete Veli Ballı won the international marathon held in Athens.
• 1980 – President Fahri Korutürk, whose term of office ended, left the Çankaya Mansion. Ihsan Sabri Çağlayangil, President of the Senate of the Republic, began to act in his place. Again, no presidential election was held in the TGNA. For months, until September 12, 1980, the president could not be elected.
• 1980 – Events broke out in the rally organized by DİSK in Eskişehir. 5 people died, 4 people were injured.
• 1988 – The team of Ali Deveci-Galip Gürel, representing Turkey, won the Camel Trophy competition held in Sulawesi, Indonesia.
• 1994 – The plane on which Rwandan President Juvénal Habyarimana and Burundi President Cyprien Ntaryamira were boarding crashed as a result of a rocket attack. After the assassination, the clashes between the Hutu and Tutsi tribes resulted in the massacre of about 1 million people.
• 2005 – Jalal Talabani, leader of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, was appointed President of Iraq.
