The expedition in question is the second of the scientific research expeditions that China launched on the Qinghai-Tibet plateau, the first of which was launched in 2017. A total of eight meteorological stations will be established during the expedition. It is envisaged that four of them will be placed above an altitude of 7 thousand meters. The highest meteorology station will be established at 8 meters and will automatically become the world's highest altitude meteorology station.
According to the statement of the research team, environmental changes, changes in greenhouse effect gas density, the effects of carbon-intensive areas on the ecosystem and the adaptation of humans to extreme environmental conditions in very high regions within the framework of climate change will also be examined during the expedition.
