TCDD General Manager Metin Akbaş held a video conference meeting with deputy general managers, 8 regional managers, heads of departments and TCDD Taşımacılık AŞ executives for safe rail transportation.
Akbaş said, “We had a tough winter season. We faced the heaviest snowfall in recent years. These rains mean abundance for our country. From our point of view, keeping the railways open means safe transportation. All of our friends worked hard and with great devotion nonstop. We spent the winter season without any problems. Thank you to all railroaders.” said.
At the meeting, Head of Railway Maintenance Department, Ersoy Ankara, made a presentation and explained the measures to be taken against possible floods and floods due to the melting of snow.
General Manager Akbaş stated that it is necessary to be careful against natural events and take all kinds of precautions, “All personnel should be warned for events such as stone falls and landslides. The personnel on the train should be careful and limit the speed in the risky areas. We must continue to work in full coordination while the pioneer checks are carried out.” said.
It was decided that the regional managers should review the risky areas in their regions and inform the personnel again on how to act in case of risk and crisis.
Inter-regional communication and team assistance plans were reviewed by reinforcing the teams, if necessary, for taking precautionary measures by following the meteorological data moment by moment, cleaning and controlling the culverts.
