Sincan Cat Treatment Unit and Rehabilitation Center Unveiled

In cooperation with Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Health Affairs Department, representatives of non-governmental organizations visited the Sincan Cat Treatment Unit and Rehabilitation Center, which is a first in Ankara with a capacity of 400 cats.

Ankara Metropolitan Municipality, which carries out extensive studies on animal rights, continues to cooperate with all stakeholders and animal lovers and strengthen the dialogue process in order to solve the problems regarding stray animals.

Sincan Cat Treatment Unit and Rehabilitation Center, which opened its doors on October 4, World Animal Protection Day last year and is a first in Ankara with its 400 cat capacity, continues to host volunteer animal lovers, especially NGOs.

Finally, the center hosted by the Department of Health Affairs, Çankaya Veterinary Affairs Manager Emre Demir, Yenimahalle Veterinary Affairs Manager İlker Çelik, Ankara Region Chamber of Veterinarians Chairman Ahmet Baydın, Ankara Bar Association Animal Rights Center President Atty. İpek Yılmaz, Head of Ankara No. 2 Bar Association Animal Rights Commission, Atty. Murad Turan and his accompanying delegation visited.

In the center, where treatment and neutering procedures are carried out by specialist veterinarians, the adoption procedures of the animals whose treatment has been completed are also carried out, while the care of the cats that cannot live alone is undertaken.

Stating that the Sincan Cat Treatment Unit and Rehabilitation Center, which is established on an area of ​​721 square meters, has examination rooms, operating room, cat treatment, quarantine and adoption units and resting units for the staff, Head of Health Affairs Department Seyfettin Aslan made the following assessments:

“As Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Health Affairs Department, we organize some activities with volunteer animal lovers in the second week of every month. Today, we introduced our Sincan Cat Treatment Unit and Rehabilitation Center with a capacity of 400 cats to our guests from our Ankara bar associations, the Chamber of Veterinarians and our district municipalities. At this center, we accept cats who have suffered an accident or trauma from the Başkent 153. The center where the injured cats are treated also serves as a sterilization and adoption center.”
