Road Construction Works Continue in Anamur

The Metropolitan Municipality also brings together the neighborhood roads in the furthest points of Mersin with asphalt, facilitating the transportation of citizens. One of the distant districts where the teams of the Road Construction Maintenance and Repair Department worked was Anamur. With the road, pavement and infrastructure works carried out in the neighborhoods that can be considered the center and heart of Anamur, the residents of the region are getting services that they have not been able to get for years.

President Seçer talked about the work in Anamur in the Parliament.

Mersin Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Vahap Seçer talked about the infrastructure and superstructure works in Anamur at the Assembly meeting. Seçer said, “Currently, we started production on Fevzi Çakmak Street on 19 February; This route is 2 thousand 200 meters. The pavement and asphalt binder level has been completed. The parquet on the road is removed and hot asphalt is made there. Here is the western part. This was the eastern part. Infrastructure work is completed there. Here, we make the pavements suitable for our citizens with special needs. We started on İnönü Street on March 4th. The removals are complete. Infrastructure works continue in certain parts of the city. Work has started again on Turgut Reis Street. As of May 15, we will complete the works on Fevzi Çakmak Street, İnönü Street and Turgut Reis Streets.

Marshal Fevzi Çakmak Street is being completely renovated

Within the scope of the works that started on the 2-meter-long road on Marshal Fevzi Çakmak Street in Anamur, the teams; completed the pavement and hot asphalt works on the eastern part of the road at the binder level. The teams will continue their work in the western part. Road Construction teams continue uninterruptedly with asphalt preparation, PMT paving and pavement construction and road arrangement works.

Within the scope of the works carried out in the region, the old and deformed parquet road on the road platform is removed and the street is covered with hot asphalt for more comfortable transportation. At the same time, the existing pavements that have been worn out over time are also renewed by the teams and made suitable for the use of citizens with special needs.

Works on İnönü Street are 80% complete.

The teams that completed the pavement construction on the 900-meter İnönü Avenue completed 80% of the work. After the completion of all the works, the hot asphalt paving will be completed on the street.

“As a neighborhood, we are meeting with hot asphalt for the first time”

Hayrettin Haber, the headman of the Iskele Neighborhood of Anamur district, expressed his satisfaction with the works, “We are very pleased with the services provided. We haven't seen hot asphalt in 10 years; especially in our neighborhood. It is a place where the citizens go in and out of the sea and there is tourism; that is, the heart of Iskele Anamur. "This is the first time we've seen such a service," he said.

“People have never seen such a service before”

Explaining the satisfaction of the citizens, Haber said, “People have never seen such a service before. We, as a neighborhood, are meeting with hot asphalt for the first time," he said. Evaluating the pavement arrangements as well as the asphalt, Haber said, “The tile is being laid, it is very beautiful. Previously it was cobblestone. It is also beautiful as a picture. There is a handicapped treadmill. We have a better pavement," he said.

“It became a road just like a highway”

Hasan Bozbovac, one of the residents of the neighborhood, stated that he has been living in the İskele Mahallesi since 1968, and commented on the work done with the words "Super, better life health". Bozbovac said, “We have not seen such a service yet. Now better, more super. There was no asphalt here before. It became a road just like a highway. The distance between Iskele and Anamur was super. God bless you,” he said.
