In the statement made by the Ministry of National Defense, 122 ships, 14 Naval Patrol Aircraft, 14 UAVs etc. It has been announced that the Blue Homeland-2022 Exercise, which is planned to be participated in, has started. In a statement from the ministry,

“Blue Homeland-11 Exercise, which is planned to be carried out by our Navy between 21-2022 April 2022 in the Black Sea, Aegean Sea and the Eastern Mediterranean, has started. to the exercise; 122 ships, 41 air units, amphibious marine infantry units and amphibious assault teams, SAT and SAS task teams and coastal units, other Force Commands, Gendarmerie General Command, Coast Guard Command and various public institutions and organizations are participating. statements were included.

The Test and Training Ship TCG UFUK is participating in the Blue Vatan-2022 Exercise. The Intelligence Ship Horizon, built by the Presidency of Defense Industries (SSB) at the Istanbul Shipyard under the main contractor of STM, was put into service at the Istanbul Maritime Shipyard on January 14, 2022, with a ceremony attended by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

The Test and Training Ship TCG UFUK (A-591) was put into service on 14 January 2022 at the Istanbul Maritime Shipyard in Tuzla, Istanbul, with the participation of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. The ceremony was attended by Minister of National Defense Hulusi Akar, Chief of General Staff Gen. Yaşar Güler, President of the Presidency of Defense Industry Prof. Dr. İsmail Demir, STM General Manager Özgür Güleryüz participated.

With the SSB Project; Subcontractors working on the ship built by STM Main Contractor:

  • Istanbul Maritime Shipyard: The shipyard where the ship was built
  • ASELSAN: Design, production and integration of Mission Systems on the ship (Radar, Communication, Ship Navigation Systems)
  • HAVELSAN: ADVENT Combat Management System, Ship Data Distribution System, Ship Integrated Information System, CCTV System, Message Operating System.
  • İŞBİR: Generator production on board
  • ANEL: Design, supply, production and integration of ship electrical system infrastructure
  • YALTES: Design and manufacture of Integrated Platform control and monitoring system and onboard consoles

The locality rate of Horizon Ship, to which approximately 194 domestic companies contributed, reached 70 percent.

Turkish Intelligence Ship TCG UFUK

TCG Horizon is 99,5 meters long. The four 2 kVA electric generators on the ship with a full displacement of 400 tons were produced by İŞBİR.

The ship, which can perform tasks such as SIGINT and ELINT and can reach a maximum speed of 18 knots per hour, was built in 30 blocks. The ship, which has an antenna equipment similar to the ÇAFRAD radar system, also has a runway suitable for the landing and take-off of 10-ton class helicopters. TCG Ufuk, which has the ability to operate in harsh climatic and sea conditions, can operate uninterruptedly in the open sea for 45 days.
