Istanbul will host the final stage of the 57th Presidential Cycling Tour of Turkey. Cyclists, who set off from Bodrum on April 10, will pedal in Istanbul on Sunday, April 17. IMM will give the highest level of support to the organization, which is important for the promotion of the country's sports.
The final stage of the 57th Presidential Cycling Tour of Turkey will be held in Istanbul. The Istanbul stage, consisting of a 136-kilometer track, will start in front of the Atatürk Cultural Center in Taksim and extend to Anatolia with the 15 July Martyrs Bridge crossing. The organization, where the remaining roads on the race route will be closed to vehicle traffic, will end in Taksim, after the name of the 3 tours between Bağdat Street and the Historic Peninsula. Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) will make important contributions in many areas from road maintenance and repair to promotion.
Roads will turn into bike tracks
Within the scope of the support provided with the coordination of the IMM Youth and Sports Branch Directorate, maintenance and repairs are carried out on the roads on the track for the health and safety of the athletes. IMM, which also provides personnel, vehicle and equipment support to the works, ensures that the race goes smoothly by cleaning the asphalt broken, rubble waste and stone detected.
Police, cleaning and traffic measures
IMM will also take police measures in Taksim Square, which is the end point of the 57th Presidential Cycling Tour of Turkey. IMM's police teams will support the prevention of entry and exit from the side roads, ensuring the safety of the track and the application of safety strips where deemed necessary. Within the scope of the measures, sufficient number of barrier support will be given to various intersections, starting and ending points. IMM will ensure that the track and Taksim Square, which is the end point, are cleaned and assign personnel and vehicles. IMM, which will also take measures to reduce the density in the ISPARK parking areas on the route, will have İSKİ's Yenikapı facility used for the landing and take-off of 2 helicopters that will take part in the television shootings of the event.
Promotional support
İBB also played an important role in the promotion of the organization. Promotional activities for the event were planned on billboards, overpasses, posters, electricity poles and Modyo TV channels. In addition to promotion in areas such as written media, informing the people of Istanbul; The announcement of the roads to be closed and the closing-opening hours of these roads was also undertaken by IMM.
Race route will be closed to traffic
Fatih, Beyoglu, Besiktas, Sariyer, Uskudar, KadıköyThe race route in Maltepe districts and the streets leading to these roads will be closed to vehicle traffic during the organization. Controlled vehicle passage will be allowed at certain stages of the race.
On the other hand, some parts of the Eurasia Tunnel and the 15 July Martyrs Bridge and the D-100 highway on both sides will be closed to traffic. Drivers will be able to use alternative routes to the closed roads.
