Mayor of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Tunç Soyer, visited journalist Esat Erçetingöz's “Gediz Basin-Clean Gediz Temiz Bay” photography exhibition. The exhibition, which ended on March 30, attracted great interest from Izmir residents.
Aegean Municipalities Union and Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor, mobilized with the slogan "Clean Gediz, Clean Bay" for the rescue of the Gediz River, the lifeblood of Izmir. Tunç Soyer, visited the photography exhibition “Gediz Basin-Clean Gediz Temiz Bay” opened at the Ahmed Adnan Saygun Art Center hosted by Izmir Metropolitan Municipality.
Photographs taken in the Gediz Basin, through the lens of journalist Esat Erçetingöz, were featured in the photography exhibition organized by the Gediz Basin Anti-Erosion, Afforestation, Environment and Development Foundation (GEMA). In the exhibition, Erçetingöz documented the pollution, wastes and how it was polluted in the Gediz Delta, from Murat Mountain, where the Gediz River originates, to Foça, where it flows for 5 days, with 100 photographs.
President Soyer, who examined the exhibition with great sensitivity, expressed that the struggle for the cleaning of Gediz will continue at full speed and thanked everyone who contributed to the creation of awareness. The exhibition, which ended on March 30, attracted great attention from the people of Izmir.
