IYI Party Samsun Ilkadim District President Atty. Burcu Işıtan Satar applied to the General Directorate of TCDD and related institutions to inform why the Samsun-Ankara High Speed Train Project could not be completed on the dates specified in the explanations of the relevant institutions, authorities and ministers within the scope of the Right to Information Law No.
According to the news of Alper Nazlı from Yeniçağ; IYI Party Samsun Ilkadim District President Atty. Burcu Işıtan Satar included the following statements in her application petition: “The continuous postponement of the construction phases and completion of the 'Samsun-Ankara High Speed Train Project', which is an important project in terms of facilitating people's lives and transportation needs on behalf of Samsun and the surrounding provinces, and the failure to fulfill the promises made in this regard. We are following with concern with the whole public.
As examples given below, the statements made by the authorized persons regarding the completion date of the project in various media channels and the failure to fulfill any of the promises made will cause the public, especially the people of Samsun, to lose their respect for this project and their belief that it will be realized. We want you to know that as a political party that is a follower of all issues and promises that concern the people of Samsun, the future of the city, its economy, we are also a follower of this issue.
Noting that they aim to enlighten the public by asking the interlocutors of this vital issue, Mayor Satar reminded that in the same petition, from 2017 to the present, the former Mayor of Samsun Metropolitan Municipality Zihni Şahin, to the statements of the Ministry of Transport, they also included the statements of the relevant institutions and authorities that did not reach any place.
Reminding the relevant articles of the Access to Information Law, IYI Party Samsun Ilkadim District President Atty. Burcu Işıtan Satar said, “We use our right to obtain information pursuant to the aforementioned law to obtain tangible information about the progress and continuous postponement of the 'Samsun-Ankara High Speed Train Project'.” He said that they will follow the issue and will inform the public according to the response.
IYI Party Ilkadim District President Atty. Burcu Işıtan Satar asked the following questions in her application petition:
- At what stage is the construction of the Samsun-Ankara High Speed Train Project?
- What is the net completion date of Samsun-Ankara High Speed Train Project?
- What is the opening date of the Samsun-Ankara High Speed Train Project in a way that can be used by the citizens?
- Since the beginning of the project, why are the dates given for its construction constantly sagging?
- Why do your institution and authorities give dates for the end of the project in the form of unfilled assumptions instead of giving clear and precise dates?
