Ankara Metropolitan Municipality EGO Sports Club broke the medal record in the Turkish Universities Karate Championship. Athletes who won 4 first place, 2 second place and 3 third place medals are preparing assertively for the other races with the European Championship.

Ankara Metropolitan Municipality EGO Sports Club is running from success to success in karate as in many branches.

EGO Sports Club recently broke the medal record in the Turkish Universities Karate Championship. EGO Sports karate players won 4 first place, 2 second place and 3 third place medals in the championship.

THE FIRST TARGET FOR YOUTH KARTETERS IS THE EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP

Pointing out that young athletes, most of whom were trained from the infrastructure, achieved significant successes, Adnan Çelen, Technical Director of EGO Sports Club, gave the following information:

“EGO Sports Club, for which I have been the technical director for about 6 years, has finally won 4 first places, 2 second places and 3 third places in the Turkish Universities Karate Championship. In the inter-school competition held in Tokat this week, our athletes achieved 2 first places, 1 second place and 3 third places. We have the European Championship ahead of us. It will be held as a selection for Ümit, Genç and U21. Our athletes who will win the auditions will compete in the Turkey Hope, Youth and U21 Championships to be held in the coming months.”

Expressing that disciplined work in training plays an important role in their success, karate players from EGO Spor spoke assertively for new championships:

Drop Pelit: “I have been interested in karate for 15 years. I have been representing my country in the national team for 10 years. In the last Universities Turkey Championship we competed in, I became the champion of Turkey both as a team and individually. I was entitled to represent my country in the Universities European Games to be held in Poland. At the same time, we are preparing intensively for the European Championship, which will be held in Gaziantep at the end of May.”

Fatih Izgi: “I have been in EGO Sports Club for 5 years. I'm third in the Balkans and Europe. I came third in Turkey in the last championship. Now we are entitled to compete in the European Games and World Games on behalf of Gazi University. Our goals are progressing well, we are at camp. Our training is fast and intense.”

Burak Ozdemir: “I have been at EGO Sports Club for 2 years. I am preparing for the Turkish Hope, Youth and Under-21 Karate Championship. I was second in Europe in the last championship. This time my goal is the European Championship.”

Furkan Kayali: “I am in the national team. I have been continuing in EGO Spor karate branch since 2008. We have the European Games ahead of us in May. As a team, we came in third in the Turkish Championship among university students. We are preparing intensively for the upcoming competitions.”

Hira Aykac: “I race at 68 kg. I came second in the Turkish Championship among university students. From now on, I will fight at 21 kg at the Turkey Hope, Youth and Under-68 Karate Championships in May.”
