Health Sciences University Mekteb-i Tıbbiye-i Şahane 2022 Award Ceremony was held at Bağlarbaşı Congress and Culture Center. Minister Varank, in his speech at the ceremony, said, "We will make an announcement in the near future to select the people that Turkey will send into space."
In the program held at Üsküdar Altunizade Congress and Culture Center, awards were given to academicians who were successful in the University, students of Health Sciences University who achieved success in sports competitions, and health reporters. At the award ceremony, 8 health reporters from different institutions were awarded with their news. The awards were presented to their owners by Minister Varank.
Speaking at the program, Minister of Industry and Technology Mustafa Varank said, “It would not be wrong if we call the School of Medicine the spirit of Turkish Modern Medicine. Our medical heritage, which came from Ibn Sina and Ibn Rushd, was institutionalized with the School of Medicine. Since its foundation, this precious school has been the pioneer of Turkish Medicine history with its experience. Thanks to the physicians, surgeons and pharmacists he trained, the foundations of many health institutions in Anatolia were laid. Today, this legacy continues with the University of Health Sciences. The University of Health Sciences is an international school in the field of health with its nearly 3 professors, more than 20 thousand students and dozens of faculties. His services now extend to Central Asia and Africa," he said.
WE WILL PASS TESTS ON THE TURKISH CITIZEN WHO WILL GO TO SPACE
Emphasizing the importance of space and aviation medicine studies, Minister Varank said, “We will be making an announcement in the near future to select the people that Turkey will send into space. The center established by the University of Health Sciences will also be very useful for us. People going to space have to have special conditions. One of the first users of this center will be our Ministry in the near future. We will test the Turkish citizen who will go to space there.” he said.
