The analysis reports proved once again that the water supplied to the capital city network by the ASKİ General Directorate and flowing from the taps is clean, high quality, healthy, drinkable and safe. Explaining that water samples taken from 365 different points 2 days a year are analyzed in 171 different parameters in ASKİ laboratories, ASKİ General Manager Erdoğan Öztürk said, “The results of all these analyzes show that our water; It can be safely drunk according to the values ​​of the USA, European Union World Health Organization (WHO), TS76 standards and Regulation on Water Intended for Human Consumption. Our water is also analyzed by the General Directorate of Public Health.”

While the General Directorate of ASKİ delivers high-quality mains water to the four corners of the Capital city through its transmission lines, it also regularly checks the quality of the water flowing from the taps with the analyzes it makes.

Explaining that they take samples from 365 different points, 2 days a year, from the dams to the İvedik and Polatlı Treatment Facilities, and from these facilities to the taps, and that they put these samples to the test, ASKİ General Manager Erdoğan Öztürk stated that all analysis results ensure that the water of Başkent is clean, healthy and safe. He said it proved to be world class.

MINISTRY OF HEALTH IS ALSO INSPECTED

Noting that ASKİ laboratories as well as the General Directorate of Public Health analyze the mains water, Öztürk said, "All these analyzes are done so that our residents of Başkent can safely consume the water flowing from their taps."

Öztürk stated that they published the results of all analysis reports on the website of the General Directorate of ASKİ on a daily and monthly basis in line with the understanding of transparency, prioritizing public health, and made the following statements:

“As ASKİ, we analyze these samples in a total of 76 different parameters. Our water, which is analyzed in ASKİ's laboratories accredited to many national and international institutions and organizations, is also subject to the control of the Ministry of Health within the scope of the Regulation on Water Intended for Human Consumption. As can be seen from the results of the analysis, our water is clean, high quality, safe and drinkable. We take 795 of these samples from metropolitan district network lines, 308 from other district network lines, and 59 from neighborhood (village) networks. In total, we test 2 samples in accordance with the standards.”

Underlining that as ASKİ, Baskent analyzes not only drinking and utility water but also wastewater, Öztürk said, “In this context, the samples taken from our 20 Wastewater Treatment Plants are also subject to 4 different parameters requested on a weekly basis, and the samples brought from 8 Package Wastewater Treatment Plants are also analyzed. We analyze it in 4 different parameters requested weekly”.

“ÖZTÜRK: “COMPLAINTS CAUSED BY INDOOR WAREHOUSES AND INTERIOR INSTALLATIONS”

Emphasizing that the reasons for the complaints made by some citizens, especially on social media, are being investigated, ASKİ General Manager Erdoğan Öztürk said:

“We immediately evaluate these complaints and carry out all kinds of checks and analyzes on the subject. However, our controls and analyzes showed that the reason for these complaints is due to the indoor warehouse and internal installation. As we constantly say, all our citizens should have the water tanks in their houses or apartments cleaned regularly, and the old pipes should be checked as they cause bacteria formation.

Stating that Ankara's mains water, which is checked and monitored daily, is within the values ​​of the Regulation on Water Intended for Human Consumption, Öztürk said, “Our water; It can be safely drunk according to the values ​​of the USA, European Union World Health Organization (WHO) and TS266 standards.
