Kocaeli Smart Bicycle System “KOBIS”, which was put into operation by Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality in 2014, provides service in 12 districts. Composed of 73 stations, 864 smart parking units and 520 smart bicycles, the number of members of KOBIS has reached 200.

Kocaeli Smart Bicycle System “KOBİS”, which was established to facilitate urban access, to create intermediate opportunities that feed public transportation systems, and to encourage the use of an environmental and sustainable transportation vehicle, has spread to 12 districts. KOBIS provides service with a total of 73 smart bike stations, 864 smart parking units and 520 smart bikes. The stations, which were expanded to all districts, and the renovation works were also reflected in the satisfaction of the citizens. During the European Mobility week, the number of KOBIS members reached 200 thousand. With the KOBIS service of the Department of Transportation, efforts will continue for citizens to use bicycles with the slogan of "Cleaner environment, less traffic".
