Ankara Metropolitan Municipality continues its efforts to increase the number of green areas in the capital without slowing down.

In the capital, where the purchase of imported trees and plants was terminated with the ascension of Metropolitan Mayor Mansur Yavaş, green areas, especially the boulevards and streets, are equipped with trees and plants purchased from domestic producers.

ABB, which has implemented environmentally friendly parks and afforestation works with the “Green Capital” project, is now preparing to bring the residents of the Capital City together with the “Lavender Park”, which is called the 'purple beauty'. Addressing the people of the capital with a post he shared on his social media accounts, ABB President Mansur Yavaş said, “We are working to leave a livable breath for the future and a clean tomorrow for our children in the Green Capital. We are establishing Lavender Park on an idle area of 85 thousand square meters in Alacaatlı District. We plan to complete our park, which will include different plant species, in August.”

IT WILL BE THE NEW MEETING POINT OF THE CAPITALS

Lavender Park, which will be established on an unused area of 85 thousand square meters in Çankaya Alacaatlı Mahallesi, will be designed to be accessible without disability and barrier-free with its jogging track, fitness, children's playground, Pati Park and a parking lot for 125 cars.

Considering the natural and cultural characteristics of the area, an economical and applicable, easy-to-maintain design will be preferred for the park; In addition to 30 lavenders, functional, aesthetically pleasing, aromatic plants (rosemary, juniper, gaura and butterfly bush) and fruit trees that are resistant to the Ankara climate will also be planted.

PLANNED TO BE COMPLETED IN AUGUST

A total of 45 thousand trees and lavender will be brought together with the soil in the park, where there will be fruit trees such as Birch, Linden, Red Leaf Japanese Maple, Pink Flowering Horse Chestnut, Cluster Willow and Oak, as well as Quince, Apple and Pear, which will be purchased from local producers.

The construction of the park, whose tender was made by the Environmental Protection and Control Department, and which is planned to be completed in August, will start in a short time.
