The Cost of Afyonkarahisar Ankara YHT Line, Unfinished for 9 Years, Increased 8 Times

CHP Afyonkarahisar Deputy Burcu Köksal submitted a proposal to the Presidency of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey to investigate why the High Speed ​​​​Train line between Afyonkarahisar and Ankara, the foundation of which was laid in 2013, could not be completed despite repeated promises.

According to the news of Müzlim Evci from SÖZCÜ; CHP Afyonkarahisar Deputy Burcu Köksal has submitted a proposal to the Presidency of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey to open a "Parliamentary Research" in order to determine why the High Speed ​​​​Train line between Afyonkarahisar-Ankara has not been completed for 9 years and to determine what needs to be done to complete the High Speed ​​​​Train line.

THE FOUNDATION WAS LAUNCHED IN 2013

Deputy Köksal reminded that the foundation of the High Speed ​​​​Train line between Afyonkarahisar and Ankara was laid on September 21, 201” and said:

“During this period, 7 ministers changed. Each incoming Minister of Transport and Infrastructure revealed the end date of the project.

Some said 2018, some said it will end in 2019,” he said. In his proposal to the Presidency of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, Köksal said, “In this period, when we are almost in the middle of 2022, in order to determine why the High Speed ​​​​Train line has not been completed despite the intervening 9 years, and to determine what needs to be done for the completion of the High Speed ​​​​Train line, the 98th Turkish Grand National Assembly bylaws 104 of the Constitution. I request the opening of a Parliamentary Investigation pursuant to Articles 105 and XNUMX," he said.

Deputy Burcu Köksal gave the following statements in the justification of her motion:

7“The contract for the Ankara-İzmir High Speed ​​​​Train project was signed in 2012. The foundation of the Afyonkarahisar-Ankara section was laid on September 21, 2013. It is stated that the project, which has a construction cost of 714 million 432 thousand 200 liras, will be carried out by the business partnership of Sigma-Burkay-Makimsan-YDA. 1080 days were given. In fact, when Veysel Eroğlu, the Minister of Forestry and Water Affairs of the time, asked for 1080 days to be reduced, the representative of the contractor firm promised to finish 6 months early.

But months passed, years passed, the train line project was not finished. 9 ministers have changed in 7 years, each incoming project gave a date for the end, but the project was not completed on the date that none of them said. Although the estimated cost was estimated as 2013 billion TL in the investment program in 3,5, it increased almost 9 times in 8 years and reached 28 billion.

However, the project was still not completed. It is necessary to investigate and reveal why the project has not been fully completed, why the government has not fulfilled its promise to finish, and why the right information has not been given to the citizens at this point."
